Purpose: The Kill Bill series is my second and third favorite movies. This is one of the projects I admire so much i wish i could have been a part of it in some way. From the cinematography to the script writing. This is a truly timeless moment in film history where talented creatives came together and took it to another level. I end up rewatching it at least once a year since I was little. The Bride vs the Crazy 88 scene always stood out to me. Not just because of the gore but because of the fearlessness while face to face with unbeatable odds. This film was one of the things that inspired me to travel to Japan, in hopes to dine at the restaurant: Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu. Where the film’s scenes are set in Japan, The actual soundstage at the Beijing Film Studios in China. All art imitates other art, this is a series of peeks into the lens of the references that live rent-free mentally in the heart and soul of Tober Apparel.
